Session

“And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.”

Acts 14:23

The Session

As a Church Fellowship we are led and governed by Ruling Elders. Our name, “Presbyterian,” is rooted in the Greek word presbuteros, which means “elder.” This etymology defines our system of church government, structured around a group of elders elected by the congregation – the same system of government upon which our country’s democratic philosophies were founded.

At present we have eleven active elders who meet regularly to pray for the needs of the congregation and local community. Together they seek to care pastorally for congregational members in visiting them regularly in their homes around various ‘districts’ and specifically when particular family needs arise.

The “teaching Elder” or Minister is Rev Graeme Orr. He is married to Mandy and they have four sons. Graeme is passionate about people and in preaching God’s Word faithfully and fully in seeking to witness believers being strengthened and non believers being transformed by the Grace of God. He has served in Magheramason from 2014.
